There is an exciting opportunity to work as a Consultant in a fast growing, incredibly run Acute Medicine team! The department are looking for a driven, committed Doctor who is going to be a senior figure and guide others where needed. There is also room to support a subspecialty interest!


The Job

The Trust are seeking a Specialty Doctor to do the following:

  • 40 hours a week (10PA contract) in Acute/SDEC
  • Supervise medical admissions and ensure it is completed in a timely manor
  • Organise and support the Acute Medicine take including doctor handovers
  • Always provide guidance and support to all members of staff
  • Communicate with other departments
  • Cover acute medicine, SDEC, AMU and Short stay ward.

The Hospital

Being a medium sized district general hospital based just outside of one of England’s most famous cities – Birmingham. The Acute/SDEC team see a wide range of complex cases so there is a great opportunity to learn.  

it is a great way to kick start your career in the NHS as an IMG or if you are already in the UK, also a fantastic way to start your journey to complete CESR.


The Requirements

  • Relevant postgraduate qualification (MRCP, MRCPI, USMLE, PLAB, Sri Lankan MD etc.)
  • IELTS or OET if you are coming from overseas
  • GMC Registration complete or in process
  • Experience in a similar role whether in the NHS or overseas
