SHO Geriatrics/Elderly Care
The Post
BDI Resourcing are seeking an international doctor for an SHO Elderly Care post. You must have a background in Medicine.
The ideal applicants for this post will be able to demonstrate excellent clinical, interpersonal and communication skills.
You will be able to work cooperatively with colleagues across our multidisciplinary teams, managing their time effectively. The successful applicants will be committed to providing expert medical care, including discharge planning, in patients presenting with a wide range of acute conditions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- To ensure high quality and safe care of General, Acute and Elderly Medicine patients resulting in excellent clinical outcomes.
- To contribute directly to patient care by, for example, reviewing patients, organising investigations and acting on results, initiating and changing treatment, and speaking to patients and their relatives/carers about their illness and clinical progress.
- To undertake essential administrative duties, including prescribing, writing electronic discharge letters, and liaising with colleagues in primary care.
- To contribute to a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, working collaboratively with a large team of allied healthcare professionals, including the Early Discharge Assessment Team, specialist nurses and physiotherapists.

This post requires PLAB or MRCP doctors, who would like to integrate into the NHS system with an SHO post to start with.

You will join a friendly, supportive and dynamic team. The hospital will provide you with full CESR support to aid you in getting onto the Specialist Register.
The post is for 10 programmed activities and is for an initial period of 12 months with the option on review to extend for a further 12 months.
The successful doctor will join our acute medicine faculty, which combines consultants in acute medicine with those from a range of other specialties who contribute to the delivery of acute medical care. The hospital are looking for a doctor who can add to the broad mix of skills and expertise within the department and help us further develop our service to deliver high quality and innovative acute medical care to their local population.

BDI Resourcing are seeking a motivated international doctor for a Senior Registrar role caring for elderly patients within a hospital in the Midlands.
You will join a supportive and friendly department who will provide you with full CESR support
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide clinical care of frail, elderly patients throughout their pathway.
- You will be expected to undertake full clinical duties including the daily clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and care planning of medical patients, providing immediate care to deteriorating patients, including resuscitation where appropriate, appropriate referrals to other relevant specialist teams where indicated, and ensuring safe discharge and follow up in due course.

The Gastroenterology Department provides services to a local population of approximately 650,000, with tertiary services (including UGI and HPB cancer services, viral hepatitis treatment, TIPSS and advanced endoscopy) offered to the rest of the West Midlands.
The successful candidate will be expected to be a part of 5 specialist registrars and 3 staff grades.
Participating in General medical on call at the registrar level is required.
