BDI Resourcing have a position for a Specialty Doctor in Clinical Haematology. The Trust has an Outstanding CQC rating and offer a welcoming and extremely supportive working environment for an overseas doctor. The post includes Morphology training and support towards FRCPath examinations. 


The Post: 

  • The appointee will be part of a team of consultants, specialty doctors, and rotating junior staff providing a comprehensive Haematology service, and will work with a good team of specialist nurses in anticoagulation, chemotherapy, transfusion, haemoglobinopathy, and Paediatric Haematology.
  • There will be an opportunity to develop a subspecialist interest according to the successful candidate’s wishes.

Duties of the post: 

  • The appointee to the post would be expected to support the inpatient service and day care facilities together with the junior medical staff and to be part of regular outpatient clinic work.
  • The post holder will share equitable responsibilities with their professional colleagues and will contribute to the governance arrangements of the department.
  • The post holder will be expected to provide haematology cover for inpatients, day case patients and inpatient referrals.
  • They will be expected to attend the Multidisciplinary Team meetings as appropriate.
  • The appointee will be expected to take an active part in Undergraduate and Postgraduate teaching, including the training of junior doctors. Along with this, they will be expected to carry out audit projects. They may also undertake research.

Additional support: 

  • This exciting programme will be tailored to the needs of the appointee in order to support the specialty doctor in signing off the necessary competencies in order to build up and complete a CESR portfolio.
  • The Trust will encourage and supply support for the completion of the FRCPath examinations. 
  • The Trust is committed to supporting the requirements for continuing education and professional development laid down by the Royal Colleges.  A personal development review will be undertaken by the Clinical Area Lead annually and objectives agreed. Appraisal is carried out according to GMC guidance in preparation for revalidation.

Requirements: 

  • MRCP or equivalent preferable
  • OET/IELTS
