Contract available for a Medical Oncologist looking to work at an Outstanding NHS Trust in the Midlands! This Trust is always super popular with our IMGs as it is within an area that has a very low cost of living but is also renowned for being beautiful and safe. 


The Post: 

  • Autonomous practice with an assigned supervisor to support first NHS role.
  • The post holder will work alongside a team of Consultants and Specialist Registrars as well as with the wider cancer multi-disciplinary to deliver exceptional cancer care throughout the region. The exact tumour site and outpatient work commitment will depend on the interests and skills of the successful candidate, as well as the needs of the Cancer Centre
  • The Trust prides itself on its flexible and supportive ethos, promoting staff well-being whilst maintaining its excellent reputation of developing internationally trained Oncologists in post.

The Duties 

  • The Department is actively involved in audit and research and the successful applicant will have access to a varied educational programme and all training opportunities available to the existing specialist trainees. There will be no on-call commitments for this post, unless specifically requested by the successful applicant.
  • Support and work alongside the Consultant Oncologists and Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialists.
  • Participate in oncology outpatient clinics, seeing new and follow-up patients under the supervision of the Consultant Oncologists.
  • Support the oncology day unit and the delivery of systemic anti-cancer therapies.

  • CESR support – flexible tumour sites to accommodate CESR and preferred sites; extremely supportive department.
  • Substantial protected time will be given to help support the clinical trials team with active participation in clinical research within an oncology research portfolio.
  • Academic support will be provided to a successful applicant wishing to pursue further post-graduate and/or Royal College qualifications (for example, MRCP SCE in Medical Oncology).

  • MRCP (Desirable)
  • GMC (Essential)
