Radiology Department

As a ST3+ Doctor in General Paediatrics and Neonatology, you will be expected to:

• Participate in duties on the CAU, Paediatric Ward, Neonatal Unit (NNU) and in the Paediatric Outpatient Department.
• Participate in the tier two on call service.
• Undertake appropriate IT training.
• Attend an Induction Course which covers training of NHS Structure and Local Trust Management.
• Share responsibility with colleagues for the day-to-day management of the Paediatric department.

The Post:

Duties of post:

• To provide a first-class clinical service to patients.
• To supervise and teach junior clinical staff.
• To participate in the teaching, research, audit and governance programmes within the Department.
• To develop professionally and take part in all service development.
• To take part in all development and appraisal processes.

SDEC is the provision of same day care for emergency patients who would otherwise be admitted to hospital. Under this care model, patients presenting at hospital with relevant conditions can be rapidly assessed, diagnosed and treated without being admitted to a ward, and if clinically safe to do so, will go home the same day their care is provided.

We are currently looking to fill a position as a Specialty Doctor in Same day Emergency Care (SDEC). Doctors with Emergency Medicine or Acute/General medicine experience should apply.

Duties: 

• The appointee will become a valuable and senior member of the medical directorate and will be responsible to the consultant physician for whom they are working. The expectation of the role is to provide senior support as part of a multi-disciplinary team whilst leading the SDEC team. The post holder will carry out independent SDEC patient assessment with junior doctors in the team.
• The assessment, monitoring and initiating treatment, with colleagues and under consultant supervision.
• To provide care for patients attending Outpatients Clinics.
• Leading review round and supervise relevant junior medical staff or students who may rotate through the department.
• Should undertake regular unsupervised rounds in SDEC to ensure patients are able to be treated and discharged the same day.
• Complete discharge summaries on the day of discharge

Medical Oncology positions at an NHS Trust in the North of England have been created to welcome 5 new IMGs on a Specialty Doctor contract! 

The post:

• The successful applicant will join a friendly, enthusiastic and innovative team, committed to supporting your Continued Professional Development (CPD) as an NHS Oncologist. The post holder will Work alongside a team of Consultants and Specialist Registrars as well as with the wider cancer multi-disciplinary to deliver exceptional cancer care throughout the region. The exact tumour site and outpatient work commitment will depend on the interests and skills of the successful candidate, as well as the needs of the Cancer Centre

Duties of post:

• Support and work alongside the Consultant Oncologists and Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialists.
• Participate in oncology outpatient clinics, seeing new and follow-up patients under the supervision of the Consultant Oncologists.
• Support the oncology day unit and the delivery of systemic anti-cancer therapies.
• Participate in the teaching and assessment of doctors in training and medical students.
• Provide ward rounds and specialist medical advice for the Acute Oncology Service (AOS), working closely with the AOS clinical nurse specialists and under the supervision of the Consultant Oncologists.
• To be involved in the developments of the specialty as part of the Oncology team.
• Actively contribute to MDT and morbidity & mortality meetings
