The Department sees approximately 90,000 new patients a year with a mix of cases including Paediatrics, major trauma, critically ill Medical and Surgical patients, which presents an excellent educational opportunity.
The Emergency Medicine Consultants are committed to providing experience and training to their staff in all areas of Emergency Medicine. Formal and informal teaching is provided and educational advancement and audit will be actively encouraged and supervised in working hours, within a 48-hour rota. There is an active senior doctor teaching programme both locally and regionally. As part of the further training for Specialty doctors, we are planning to offer secondment to essential specialities that form part of the emergency medicine curriculum e.g. acute medicine, paediatrics, ITU & anaesthesia. This would be tailored to the needs of the individual doctor.
Successful post holder will be expected to lead the assessment, resuscitation, management and safe transfer (where necessary) of seriously ill and injured patients. Provide supervision to junior staff and undertake regular teaching and education sessions. You would be required to play an active role in the day-to-day management and administration of the Emergency department, ensuring all targets are achieved and high quality, safe patient care is delivered.
Salary and Relocation Expenses
Between £45-70k per annum

The Trust are renowned in the region for the excellent training and supervision we provide to their doctors. The Consultant body has current RCEM examiners and a recently developed Clinical Educators programme. There will be a training and teaching package for all successful applicants and the opportunity to develop specific skills or areas of interest such as ultrasound, simulation, paediatrics and quality improvement amongst many others. There are also established relationships with allied specialties.
You will work on a shift basis with other registrars e.g. Specialty Trainees (ST3 and above) or Specialty Doctors, such that cover is provided in the Emergency Department 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The Trust has a thriving and innovative Emergency Department with a focus on clinical excellence. Demand for their service is steadily growing and they now see nearly 100,000 new attendances per year.
You will assess patients and initiate treatment working with a multidisciplinary team and will assist the consultants in the supervision of the more junior doctors and in the safe and effective running of the Emergency Department.

BDI Resourcing are searching for an international doctor to fill a Registrar position in General Paediatrics with Neonates in a South East NHS Trust.
The trust provides a 24/7 consultant led service so you will be well supported at all times in the day/ night. There are 9 speciality registrars, 6 neonatal SHO’s and 8 general paediatric SHO’s. The successful candidate will participate in the middle grade rota. The post holder will receive the same level of training and education as the other middle grade registrars. The postholder will rotate through paediatric A+E/ short stay admission unit (PAU), the neonatal unit, the general paediatric ward and outpatients.
The successful candidate will be involved in management and service development in the trust. There is a robust audit and quality improvement programme in place. You would be strongly encouraged to aim to present your work at national meetings. Depending on experience, you may also wish to further develop our simulation programme. We have an excellent track record in registrars being appointed to consultant posts from this department.
