We’re aware of lots of questions circulating regarding what to do if your Country has been red-listed and whether you can legally travel. Providing you follow the advice on the UK government website, you will be able to travel. This will mean quarantining in a hotel when you arrive into England. This Blog article aims to answer all of your questions surrounding hotel quarantine and what to do if you’re due to travel to the UK for an NHS post shortly, from a Red-List country.
What is the current ‘Red-List’ policy?
You cannot travel to the UK if you’ve visited or passed through a country where travel to the UK is banned (‘Red-Listed’) in the last 10 days, unless you’re:
Does this mean I’m not allowed to travel?
If you have received your Certificate of Sponsorship and Visa to work within the NHS and live within the UK, then you have ‘residence rights’. Dependents also have these rights. This means that you are able to travel to the UK, providing you quarantine for a full 10 days in a managed quarantine hotel, take a coronavirus test on or before arriving and follow the national restrictions.
How do I organise and book the Quarantine Hotel?
You must quarantine in a managed quarantine hotel if you’ve travelled from or through a Red-Listed Country. The Quarantine Hotel is a 10 day (11 night) managed quarantine package which includes your hotel stay, food and beverages, transfers, security and 2 Covid-19 tests. This is called the Managed Quarantine Package and MUST be booked BEFORE travel.
To book the package, click the link here. You will need to fill out a simple form stating where you’re travelling from and to and will then be given the option to pay.
How much does this cost?
The Managed Quarantine Package costs a total of £1750 for a single Adult. You will need to pay additional amounts for anyone travelling with you. You can find the relevant prices on the CTM booking portal.
